A Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following:
archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. OR Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. AND Specialized

At the GS-11:
Qualifying experience for GS-11 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-09 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience using software tools, systems, or techniques to manage archival materials in a variety of digital media types such as text, image, audio, or video; assisting with implementing policies or procedures to manage digital archival collections; and processing digital collections, including accessioning, appraising, arranging, or describing. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that is directly related. Related degrees may include Archival Science; Library Science; Information Science; Information Studies; or History. OR A combination of education and experience as described above. At the GS-12:
Qualifying experience for GS-12 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-11 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience using software tools, systems, or techniques to manage archival materials in a variety of digital media types such as text, image, audio, or video; assisting with implementing policies or procedures to manage digital archival collections; processing digital collections, including accessioning, appraising, arranging, or describing; and applying technical, descriptive, or preservation metadata for digital objects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
