Position Summary
Mid-Senior Microsoft Engineer that is well versed in deploying, troubleshooting and supporting AD on Windows 2003/2008/2012. The right candidate will also have Consolidation and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and 2012. Current MS Certifications preferred.
Microsoft Engineer will be responsible for meeting with and supporting USDA/ARS in designing, deploying and supporting a variety of environments.
The candidate must be able to speak clearly and communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with a customers Technical staff as well as Management. He or she is expected to have prior experience in either leading or supporting a project and therefore possess strong self-discipline skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Purpose of Job Functions: Deploy, troubleshoot, document and support Windows Active Directory on 2003/2008/2012 and SQL server 2008/2012 for a Federal Government Agency Consolidation effort. The Microsoft Engineer may also be responsible for some reporting associated with their daily duties. The potential candidate must also be able to support, troubleshoot, and document VMWare 5.5 or have similar virtualization experience.
Importance of Job Functions: The right candidate must possess good people skills and be personable as this individual will be meeting with customers on a regular basis.
Other Duties and
Responsibilities: Candidate will be required to be part of an on-call rotation, with the ability to work occasional weekends for maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Candidate must have extensive knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server Operating System 2003/2008/2012. Candidate must have experience with SQL 2008/2012. Candidate must have knowledge of IIS, knowledge of Powershell, knowledge of UCS, project life cycles and the ability to work in a team environment.
Candidate must have analytical skills. Candidate must be clearable US Citizen (No dual citizenship).
Desired: Knowledge of SCCM, SCOM. Current MS Certification (MCSE, MCP, MCITP) preferred. 5
years Active Directory Experience and Software Documentation skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
