Eaton Corporation in Beltsville, MD has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer. This person will function as the technical liaison between the supplier and site regarding all quality and improvement issues as well as FLL for receiving inspection team. The ideal candidate will possess the following
Qualifications:
Essential Functions:
o Functional quality lead for supplier specification quality training for receiving inspection
o Perform initial assessments and periodic audits of supplier quality systems for the purpose of approving new suppliers and verifying continuing supplier conformance to quality system requirements.
o Initiate and follow-up supplier corrective actions to ensure complete and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
o Act as liaison for the supplier and the company to resolve nonconformances and quality problems effectively by interacting and communicating with engineering, purchasing, planning, program quality engineers and various levels of management of the supplier and the company.
o Participate as a member of the Material Review Board to review and disposition supplier related Nonconformance Material Reports as required.
o Develop appropriate and effective supplier metrics to monitor effectiveness of supplier quality control system and processes.
o Develop and assist with implementation of supplier quality control and process control plans as required for supplier operations.
o Develop and implement statistical process controls of supplier processes as appropriate or when required by customers.
o Lead the SCM team to develop supplier performance reports and process. As well as Front Line Leader for the receiving inspection team
o Lead the SCM team in development of certified supplier process.
o Develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with suppliers.
Participate as internal auditor for process audits of AS9100/ISO 9001:2000 quality management system.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
o Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
-2 of those years in Quality Engineering.
o This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred
Experience: (not required)
o Detailed and working knowledge and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M.
o Detailed knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001:2000 as well as AS9102
o Working knowledge of basic statistical process control methods.
o Understanding of lean principles
