The Service Operations Division within the office of Consular Systems and Technology at the Bureau of Consular affairs (CA/CST/SO) is seeking a senior network engineer who will also serve as liaison to Department of State's Information Resource Management (IRM) Enterprise Network Management Operations Center (ENMOC) and Network Design (ND).
The network operations and engineering scope of the CA/CST/SO division includes:
Engineering, operations, maintenance and monitoring of the LAN switch fabric at all the Passport locations nationwide.
Monitoring and performance profiling of all LAN and WAN infrastructure that impacts CA systems and services (IRM operated and maintained).
Engineering, operations, maintenance and monitoring of all data center network load balancing hardware.
Engineering, operations, maintenance and monitoring of all data center blade chassis enclosure network switches.
Incident and problem management for all CA network resources.
Liaison between CA and IRM Perimeter Security for all firewall and perimeter security requests/changes, incidents and problems.
Responsibilities:
Maintain strong relationships with key contractor and customer contacts at IRM to facilitate communication and collaboration.
Serve as liaison between CA and ENMOC for all network incidents that impact CA systems and services to ensure timely resolution.
Serve as liaison between CA and ND to keep track of all hardware and circuit installs upgrades and maintenance.
Utilize ENMOC monitoring tools to proactively monitor network resources critical to CA systems and services.
Keep track of all IRM network maintenance that will impact CA systems and services and serve as liaison to make sure CA is notified appropriately and prepared for the maintenance.
Serve as liaison between CA and ENMOC for all Active Directory engineering, operations, maintenance and monitoring.
Serve as the liaison between CA and ND for all service improvement initiatives that impact CA systems and services
Position Requirements/
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent technical experience preferred
CCNA or equivalent certification preferred
Experience and knowledge working in a fast paced environment
Experience with supporting a large federal client preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
