Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Description Brown and Caldwell is seeking an engineer with experience managing the successful delivery of work involving utility infrastructure projects for the water industry (water and wastewater) to join our Columbia, MD or Alexandria, VA office. In this role, you will utilize your consulting expertise to manage and execute work on projects and to help ensure successful client relationships. Specific work can include planning, scheduling, design, regulatory compliance and permitting, field investigations, feasibility studies, design documentation, report writing, construction inspection and other tasks on current and future projects in Maryland, DC, Virginia and across the Mid-Atlantic Area. Client service and support for marketing and proposals may also be included in this role. Projects within the purview of this position will span from conceptual planning, across preliminary and final design, to construction phase support and construction management for water, wastewater, stormwater and related water resource facilities; and pumping stations. Detailed Description:
Manage and execute work on water and wastewater facilities including:
comprehensive planning, preliminary design and final design projects Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies Provide consultation in specialized areas (wastewater treatment, water treatment, facility planning infrastructure, and construction management), make decisions and solve problems Prepare and make presentations to clients for professional meetings Successfully manage and deliver projects on time and on budget. Utilize internal project management tools and resources. Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency Direct the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers. Participate in BC's QA/QC process. Lead business development pursuits related to water and wastewater opportunities Desired Skills and
Experience:
B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water treatment facilities, preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering and consulting PE in MD, DC or VA, with the ability to obtain licensure in other jurisdictions. Strong project management skills Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred but not required. Business Development - Identifies client requirements. Develops and maintains relationships with clients. Conducts market research. Writes and presents project estimates and proposals including scope, cost, and schedule according to client requirements and bid processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation Valid driver's license and good driving record is required Position may be based in Columbia, MD or Alexandria, VA. Routine travel between offices, and throughout the Mid-Atlantic may be required. Leadership - Communicates clear expectations, goals, and vision. Manages performance of direct reports. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
